Chilton Community Sports And Social Club

We are a community sports and social club in County Durham, based in the heart of Chilton. Being an old mining town, we have a strong community spirit, and our club is the vibrant central hub of the community in Chilton. We have various activities taking place during the week, including Saturday evening entertainment, live music, bingo nights, sports events, and charity events. Great facilities

Our sports and social club in County Durham has recently been refurbished and redecorated, and is now a great venue for entertainment and live music, as well as for hosting events and parties. We have several function rooms available for hire. Our Main Room can host up to 500 people and has a stage and sound/lighting. We also have the Jubilee Lounge, the Snug Room, and the Vatican Room, which is decorated with historic memorials and plaques commemorating the members of the club who fought and died in the World Wars. Our numerous rooms can be hired out for a wide range of private functions.

We are Club and Institute Union (CIU) Affiliated

Being a full member of our club grants you access to 1600 other clubs and institutes throughout the country, so you can enjoy reasonably priced refreshments, entertainment, recreation, and company wherever you go in England and Wales. Based in Chilton, our sports and social club in County Durham serves the whole community of Chilton and Windlestone, and attracts visitors from the surrounding towns and villages too.

Our sporting activities

Chilton Community Sports and Social Club have a wide range of sporting and fitness facilities and events:

Gym
Our gym is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 11.30am, and 6-8pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and has various cardio equipment, including a treadmill, a rower, an exercise bike, and a cross-trainer.

Snooker
Any fans of cue sports are superbly catered to with a pool table and two full size snooker tables in a spacious, recently redecorated room.

Football
Our club hosts and supports Chilton Juniors Football Club, who play on the Academy playing fields opposite our building, and we regularly host events and fundraising activities for the club.

Darts, Dominoes and Pool
Our club hosts a number of pub games and sports, including dominoes, pool, darts, and others. You will always be welcome for a game.

Our Entertainment & Events

At our sports and social club in County Durham, we host a number of fun events and recreational activities, including bingo, quiz nights, Saturday night entertainment, and live football throughout the season.

Bingo
You can come to bingo on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, and Sunday lunchtime. Evening sessions commence at 7.30pm, and lunchtime games begin at 12.30pm.

Saturday night entertainment
Enjoy live entertainment, every Saturday in our Lounge, featuring tribute bands and local acts, singers, and performers.

Ballroom dancing
Come to our weekly ballroom dancing sessions, every Friday afternoon at 2–4.30pm.

Charity events
We hold charity events and fundraisers throughout the year, which are always well attended and great fun. Keep an eye on our events page for more information.
